Welcome to Be FIT By Brit, my website and blog for all things health, wellness, fitness, and nutrition. On this website you will find individualized services that I have tailored specifically for YOU, including health plans made with YOUR personal goals in mind. How this works is simple: scroll through the "Services" tab, pick a plan, and schedule a one-on-one consultation. The rest is on me!

I want this to serve as your platform for health ideas, advice, recipes, workouts, and any other recommendations you may need along your journey to your healthiest, happiest you. As your health coach, I will walk with you every step of the way - for as long or as little as you'd like! There is so much that I can't wait to share with you on my weekly posts, but first, let's kick start February with some self love.

Self love may be the single most important factor in your journey to health. And thanks to some recent narratives, we've all become a little more aware of this powerful practice. (If you haven't read Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis or seen I Feel Pretty with Amy Schumer, please go do yourself a favor). The mind and body are incredibly powerful allies when it comes to the way you feel, talk, think, and act. We'll discuss the mind-body connection a little deeper another week, but for now just think about how this may resonate with you.

Self Love Habits to Embrace Every Day This Month:

Take 5 minutes out of your morning to set a goal or intention.

What do you need to accomplish today? How should you prioritize your tasks to make yourself more efficient and less stressed? Psychologists have shown that by writing things down, you gain a higher sense of achievement and self-confidence to go through your daily life (Forbes).

Get out there and exercise!

Working out doesn't have to be a chore. Try doing things you enjoy, such as roller blading, walking the dog, going for a scenic hike, or even doing a home workout while you watch your favorite TV show. (Interested in my Bachelor sit-up series? I got you!)

Prioritize YOU.

Take some time each day to do something for yourself, whatever it may be. I don't mean set aside hours for a spa day - we're all busy, I get it. Even 15 minutes of your favorite activity can get your mind back on track for productivity. I'm a sucker for a bubble bath, a hot cup of tea, and a great book.

Practice mindfulness.

Mindfulness is described as the ability to be fully present in the current moment. When we are aware of the internal and external factors that surround us, we can accept and acknowledge our feelings with greater ease. This transitions to the way we nourish and feed our bodies - with mindfulness and intent.

Trust yourself.

Trusting your own gut and intuition can be hard in a world that is so quick to judge and compare. YOU know what is good for you, and YOU know who you are. Stay true to that person and don't let anyone's opinion of you change that.

Remind yourself that your value doesn't lie in the way you look.

So wear what makes you feel good and do what makes you happy! Your self-worth is determined by the way YOU see things, not the way others see you.

I challenge you to put these habits into work this month - there's no better time than right now! Let me know your thoughts in the "Contact" section above.
